Praise the Lord always in trials and triumphs

Do we praise our Lord and Savior all the time, or only when things are going well? Are we praising Him in everything or only the good times?

Let’s look at Job and see how he handled his praise to God. Job was a successful man who feared God and was known for praising God. He had a prosperous business, was highly respected in his community, and was married and had 10 children.

And then his business began to fail with one thing after another going wrong. He finally had to file bankruptcy but still he praised God.

And then real tragedy struck. His children were all together and a storm struck and the house was destroyed and all 10 of his children were killed, but still he praised God!

Job said in the Word, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will depart, the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” Would we be praising God after losing our business and now all 10 children?

And then sores came to his feet to the top of his head ... he was in great pain and discomfort but still he praised God. His friends turned against him. They were sure that he had sinned and was being punished for those sins but still Job praised God. Even his wife turned from him and said, “Curse God and Die!” But still Job praised God.

His praise was not for things or blessings because at this time he had neither. He lost his income, he lost his family, he lost his health, he lost his friends, but still Job praised God. When he lost his children, he must have been filled with grief but he still praised God!

What have you lost? Have you suffered anything as difficult at Job? Job suffered greatly but still he praised God ... can we do the same?

Let’s claim a couple of scriptures ... Psalm 104:1 says “Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You are very great. You are clothed with splendor and majesty.” Let’s praise God ... our Lord and Savior every day, in every way.

And in Psalm 106:48 we can claim His love, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, ‘Amen!’ Praise the Lord.” Let’s always praise the Lord ... praise His name!
