Coming together in prayer among fellow Christians

We are assured from the Scriptures that we can bring our needs, our petitions to Him and He will hear.

In the community of La Vernia, there is a prayer chain that reaches many and the needs are spread all around the state and even out of state. It is a beautiful ministry of taking the needs of the people to God for His touch.

In Colossians 1:9-14, we have the following message, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way; bearing fruit in very good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully give thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

This beautiful ministry was begun about 14 years ago by Ann Miller, and I would like to quote some of her words, “Prayer is an intentional and meaningful way that every individual can deepen his or her personal relationship with God. It is a time when we admit our needs, adopt humility, and acknowledge dependence upon God. Prayer is an exercise of faith and hope. An important part of our Christian faith is the coming together in prayer.

“The purpose of this prayer chain is to unite us as Christians to pray for one another, other individuals, groups, families, and events. It functions as a circle of communication among fellow Christians. This chain is used to strengthen all participants through intercessory prayer and to provide support for those in needs.

“Requests may come from anyone at any time. You do not need to be a member or even attend La Vernia United Methodist Church to make a request. Requests are received and sent to people all over the United States.”

Thank you, Ann, for this beautiful ministry and if you would like to add a request, just send it to ann@caremee.org.

There are presently approximately 191 recipients on the list and if you would like to be added and begin receiving the requests, just contact Ann at ann@caremee.org. And many people that receive the requests turn to others through a phone list and continue to spread the requests and the needs of others. This is a beautiful ministry of taking the needs of others to our Heavenly Father: and He hears and answers, praise His name!
