Reminders of God’s love

Today let’s rejoice in the goodness of our Heavenly Father as we look to the words given to us in the Holy Scriptures in Psalm 103.

“Praise the Lord, O my soul, all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Vs. 1-2). We want to always praise His name and remember all the wonderful things that are part of our lives because of His vast love.

“He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems my life from the pit and crowns me with love and compassion” (Vs. 3). Wow! He forgives all, not part, but all of my sins and heals all, again not just some, but all my diseases. And the most beautiful part of this is the words; He redeems my life from the pit. He could leave us where we really belong, but He redeems us and crowns us with love and compassion. What a beautiful message and one on which we want to always dwell and spread the glorious news to all those around us.

In verse 5 we read, “The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.” He is the creature of righteousness and He reigns it upon us and promises us justice in every area of our lives. Let’s claim that promise each and every day.

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger, abounding in love” (Vs. 8). We tend to be quick to anger sometimes and this tells us that our Heavenly Father is slow to anger because He abounds in love; He is compassionate and gracious. Let’s dwell in His love.

And in verse 11, we have the following words: “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him.” We can’t begin to imagine how far the heavens are from the earth but we can rejoice that His love is so great and we can’t imagine it but we can thank Him for His love and rejoice in it.

“But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children’s children with those who keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts” (Vs. 17 & 18). His love is everlasting and He promises to be with us forever and with our children and their children.

Let’s dwell in His love and let’s spread the glorious news of His love to all our families, friends, neighbors, and everyone with whom we come in contact.

Praise the name of the Lord Almighty!
