How do you apply faith to your life?

Today let’s look at the word faith and see how it applies in our lives. We have faith in many, many things, such as when we get in our cars, we have the faith that the vehicle will start. We then have faith that it will get us to our destination and we have faith in the drivers around us that they will be at their best. When we place something in the refrigerator or freezer, we have the faith that the electricity will continue and the appliance will work properly and the food will remain good and not spoil. We show faith when we make a deposit at the bank. We are placing faith that the monies will be there when we need to withdraw them with a check.

Let’s take the word faith apart and look at the spiritual meaning of the word. First let’s start with “F” and think of our wonderful Father above. We can claim the Father’s love in everything, in every way. In Ephesians 4:6, we read, “One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” And in 1 Corinthians 8:6, we have the promise, “Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things and through whom we exist.” Let’s place our faith in our Heavenly Father each day, all the time.

The second letter in faith is “A” and we can claim the promises of God always! We don’t have to doubt, we don’t have to wonder, we can rely always on the promises that He has given us. Praise His Name!

As we look at the word faith, we see that the third letter is “I.” We can always claim the promise that God is inviting us to Him. He is always inviting us to belong to Him! When we see the Cross, we can claim the greatest love possible and know that the invitation to belong to God is to every one of us. Let’s accept His invitation for salvation and for our daily walk with Him.

The “T” in Faith could be trust. In looking to the scriptures that our God has provided, we read in 1 Chronicles 16:11, “Look to the Lord and His strength, seek His face always.” We can trust Him with our every moment, with our every deed and thought, with our every action. Let’s make trusting Him the utmost thing in our daily lives.

And the “H” in faith could stand for Heaven. What is the first scripture that you learned? Was it John 3:16? “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him shall be saved.” We can claim that verse, that promise, and know that Heaven will be our final destination. Let’s also claim the words of Jesus in John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ’I am the way and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

In putting the word faith back together, we know that we can claim God as our Father, He is always and He is inviting us to live with and for Him. We can trust Him always and know that someday we will see Him in Heaven.

Let’s put our faith in Him. Praise His Name.
