A reminder of his never-ending faithfulness

How would you explain faith to a child? What is the most important part of faith? Is faith easy?

Let’s first discuss faith in our families. We have faith that they love us and will always be doing things that will encourage us and they wouldn’t do anything to destroy our relationship.

We have faith in our friends. They bring comfort to us and reach out to us in a loving manner all the time. We don’t doubt their reasons, but rather we enjoy our relationships.

How about faith in our church? Do we feel that everything is always there for us as we walk with the Lord and the encouragement that we receive from the pulpit, from our Sunday school class and from those that we encounter in our worship of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

How would we describe our faith in God? Let’s look to some scriptures. In 1 Corinthians 1:9, we read “God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.” What a beautiful message. God is faithful! He has called us because of His love, and has entered us into a fellowship with God’s Son, Jesus Christ. What a beautiful promise. We can rejoice in this faith in God.

In Hebrews 10:23 we have the following: “Let us continue to hold firmly to the hope that we confess without wavering, for the One who made the promise is faithful.” We do not have to doubt our God, He is faithful ... always!

In a Biblical dictionary faith was defined as a belief that is not based on proof.

Recently I saw the following statement of faith and it has encouraged me. “Faith is not knowing what the future holds ... but knowing who holds the future.”

We have no assurance of the future; we do not know what the future will bring, but we can know and believe that we know who holds the future. God is faithful and He holds the future. Amen?

And we want to share the faith in Christ. In Romans 1:11-12 we read the following: “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” We want to always share our faith with others.
