Check it out! Library kiosk re-opens at H-E-B
ELAINE M. STEPHENS Abbigail and Rachel Dunn show off their brand-new, colorful library cards, issued during the grand re-opening March 28 of the Wilson County Public Library kiosk at the La Vernia H-E-B.

People in La Vernia love to read!

The number and ages of people who signed up for new library cards at the grand re-opening of the Wilson County Public Library kiosk, now located at H-E-B, is an indication of just how.

In less than 30 minutes, 12 people got free, colorful new library cards March 28, as librarians and volunteers were on hand to cut the ribbon on the only book kiosk in Texas, which was recently relocated from a previous location in La Vernia to H-E-B.

According to Wilson County Library Director Nicki Stohr, the kiosk holds 200 books and will be re-stocked two to three times a week, depending on demand. With a Wilson County library card, readers may check out books, DVDs, bestsellers, and audio books for two weeks. Returning a book ...from any county library location is just as easy, via the receptacle located next to the kiosk.

The Wilson County Public Libraries plan additional library services in La Vernia, including services at La Vernia High School, and will be announced soon, Stohr said.

The Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library has full-service libraries in Floresville, Stockdale, and Poth. To obtain a library card, visit the main library at 1 Library Lane in Floresville on the courthouse square.
