The La Vernia Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will hold a Santa Fun Run in the City Park on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 3:30 p.m.; registration begins at 3 p.m.
The fun run will be a contest on the track in the park, split up into three age groups: 5-11 years old, 12-17 years old, and 18 and up. Participants must wear a Santa Hat when crossing the finish line! Hats will be available for purchase at the event.
Entry is $3 for ages 11 and under and $5 for 12 and up. The proceeds will benefit the LV Angels.
There will be a stocking prize for the winner in each age group.
The fire department also will sell hot dogs and popcorn. This event will precede the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony planned by the Greater La Vernia Parks Foundation later that day. Everyone is invited to spend the day in the La Vernia City Park, getting into the Christmas spirit!
