I believe that the first step toward living a glorious life of excellence is to make a quality decision to honor God’s Word. President George Washington, a man of excellence who honored God’s Word, said, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” One of America’s greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln, said, “I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to men.” No one could deny that each of these great American presidents were of excellent character. They honored God’s Word and it impacted their life and the lives of millions.
When we stand for God by honoring His Word, it will impart strength in our words and actions. We are God’s representatives on this earth and we should uphold His standards of truth and integrity to the world. Proverbs 2:7-11 says, “He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a shield to them that walk uprightly. He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of his saints. Then shall you understand righteousness, and justice, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul; Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you.”
Jesus came to give you a glorious, abundant life of excellence (John 10:10), but you need to apply yourself and seek it out. Seek God’s Word and strive to honor Him with your life. You may not become a great American president, but you can impact the world around you in a positive way that gives honor to God and blesses others.
