’Take backs,’ Fox News, Dinesh, and the Bushes

Headline from

“Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has apologized for what she called ’ill-advised’ comments she made earlier é .”

Between the Lines

This seems to be an all-too-familiar trick being played these days. A politician makes a deliberate statement and then does a “take back.” It’s like when a statement is made during a jury trial and the judge tells the jury to “disregard” the previous comments. How do you undo what was said?

Don’t you think the harsh criticism of Donald Trump by Justice Ginsburg will remain in the public consciousness no matter how much she regrets the statement?

It appears that San Antonio’s own darling of liberal circles, HUD Secretary Julian Castro, pulled the same trick when he criticized Trump last week. While he claims the comments were “inadvertent,” it’s hard to believe a Harvard graduate would not realize what he was doing.

Even low-level civil service employees know better than to get political while they are employees of the federal government.

“Fox News: Shepherd Smith Attacks Bobby Jindal for Saying All Lives Matter”

Between the Lines

While I switch back and forth from Fox News to CNN, there is getting to be less and less distinction between the two. What makes criticism of a guest by a news broadcaster acceptable? Obviously, Smith disagreed with his guest, the former Louisiana governor, and let him know.

Although the White House has defended the Black Lives Matter movement, others see it as a racially biased and divisive organization.

I would argue that most sensible people would not consider defending all lives to be “derogatory,” as Smith claimed.

“Hillary’s America: Imagine The World Without Her”

Between the Lines

As the San Antonio Tea Party stated, liberals do not like this movie, so you can take it from there. Dinesh D’Souza is an Indian-born naturalized American who has been successfully making documentary films.

He’s been so successful, in fact, that liberals have long tried to shut him up, even trumping up some charges against him, but he persists. I say trumping up charges, because making “illegal” campaign contributions often is ignored in liberal camps. Only when it involves a successful conservative, do they take it to trial. D’Souza was sentenced to five years probation and a steep fine, but he’s completed all that and is back at making documentaries.

Go to Google to find where “Hillary’s America” is showing now in San Antonio and New Braunfels.

“Is the party over for Bushism?”

Between the Lines

As Patrick Buchanan wrote, neither George W. Bush, Jeb Bush, John McCain nor Mitt Romney were going to be in Cleveland for the Republican National Convention this week.

Indeed, they are not in attendance for the convention in Cleveland. We are supposed to care?

The enthusiasm expressed by Sheriff David Clarke, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, and a host of other great leaders is contagious.

You can say goodbye to the establishment Republicans who have managed to maintain the status quo, going along with everything Obama wanted.

We are ready for a positive change.
