The Wilson County Junior Livestock Show will pick up the pace in the Wilson County Show Barn, located east of Floresville on S.H. 97, this Saturday, Jan. 21. Horse show exhibitors will take center stage at noon.
The show picks up the pace again on Tuesday, Jan. 24, with lambs and goats.
Judging of breeding lambs begins at noon, with market lamb and showmanship to follow. The breeding and market goats will begin at 3 p.m.
Wednesday’s activities include the check-in of all poultry and swine.
The poultry judging will begin at 10 a.m., with the judging of rabbits at 5 p.m. The show will include the ever-popular swine show on Thursday and the selection of the grand champion steer Friday.

The baked foods show will take place Friday, Jan. 27, with the posting of baked foods show results at 2:30 p.m. The public viewing and donations of baked foods items will begin at 3 p.m.
Friday night’s activities will conclude with the annual Youth Barn Dance from 7-11 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Wilson County 4-H Council, will be held in the show barn. Tickets will be $10 at the door. For more information regarding the dance, call 830-393-7357.
The premium sale for the 2017 Wilson County Junior Livestock Show is set for Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Floresville Event Center, located west of Floresville at 600 S.H. 97W. The auction includes the baked foods show champions.
