Saturday, March 11, is the day voters will determine whether or not the Wilson County Memorial Hospital District must “roll back” a 3-cent property-tax increase.
Early voting ended Tuesday, March 7, with more than 800 hospital district residents having cast ballots.
While all early voting took place on the Connally Memorial Medical Center’s main campus, March 11 voting will take place at one of five locations, depending on the voter’s precinct. (See table.)
Election-day voting times are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
According to the Wilson County Memorial Hospital District board, the 3-cent increase is to facilitate capitalizing the proposed countywide emergency medical services program.
The ballot states: “Reducing the tax rate in the Wilson County Memorial Hospital District for the current year from $0.1390 for each $100 of taxable value (the rate adopted) to $0.1129 for each $100 of taxable value (the rollback rate calculated) as provided in the Texas Tax Code.”
