“Journalists at major outlets in America have grown used to their work being labeled ‘fake news’ by the American president, but a handful of recent stories show that Trump’s press bashing is catching on around the world.”

Between the Lines

In view of recent developments within the world of journalism, the news media should admit they have brought much of the criticism on themselves.

“‘Gay wedding cake’ case comes before US Supreme Court”

Between the Lines

This case has been dragging on in the courts since 2012. The baker says he did not refuse to provide service to the couple, but just not to design a cake that contained a message that conflicted with his religious beliefs. The baker says this violates his rights to freedom of religion and free speech. He has since quit baking wedding cakes in order to avoid a future clash, but this deprives him of a portion of his business, and also his artistic ability is limited from serving others.

“RNC to support Roy Moore in Senate race in Alabama, weeks after cutting ties with his campaign”

Between the Lines

The headlines about Roy Moore refer to the fact that he has been accused of sexual harassment, but has consistently denied any wrongdoing with those accusers.

Typical of the establishment Republicans, however, instead of supporting one of their own party like the Democrats do, the Republicans hid behind their sanctimonious claims.

Democrats “stand by their man” even when they are guilty.

After initially pulling their support from Moore, Republicans have now decided to reinstate their support. Is it because they realize that Moore may win anyway? Or is it because they realize how detrimental it would be to the Republican majority if a Democrat is elected to that position? Republicans need to wake up and hope this is not too little, too late.

“Supreme Court allows full enforcement of Trump travel ban while legal challenges continue”

Between the Lines

It’s about time that saner voices prevail.

The Washington Post reported that the ruling was contained in an “unsigned opinion” that did not explain the court’s reasoning. But having the decisions by the liberal Hawaiian and Maryland courts reversed, it is good news to those interested in protecting Americans from unrestricted and undocumented immigrants pouring into this country.

“The NFL signs on with George Soros”

Between the Lines

The NFL just keeps digging in and getting deeper into the situation that has led to its huge public relations challenge. Those football fans who have a problem with the liberal message coming from the NFL will not be surprised.

That doesn’t mean that fans are not disappointed to see the NFL continue with its liberal politics.

All most fans want is to see a good game -- not to have a political message rammed down their throats.
