Reflect God’s glory and might in your life

“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said, ’Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts é’” (Hebrews 3:13-15a).

How can we encourage one another daily? Let’s look to some scriptures for guidance. In Psalm 100:2, we read, “Serve the Lord with gladness, come before Him with joyful songs.” If we have gladness in our hearts and share the joy of the Lord with others, we will be encouraging those around us. We want our lives to be a service to our precious Lord.

Our lives should be a testimony of God’s greatness. “They will tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might” (Psalm 145:11). We want to daily tell of God’s glory and His might. We want to testify of His greatness.

We want always to be benevolent in our dealings with everyone, whether at church, at the grocery store, in traffic, etc. In Luke 6:38 we are told, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Give a heart of love wherever you are, show love and encouragement in every action, in every word.

We can assure others that we are praying for their needs, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God” (Philippians 4:6).

We want to always be a prayer warrior for those around us, assuring them that we are praying for their needs.

We want our lives to be a time of praise as this is an encouraging way to tell others about the love of God. “Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and filling to praise Him” (Psalm 147:1). We want to make our lives an encouragement to others by living a life of praise to God.

Another way that we give encouragement to those about us is to watch our speech, “I said, ’I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin. I will put a muzzle on my mouth’ é” (Psalm 39:1). Our actions are very, very important but our words are equally important. We want always to praise the Lord with our words and actions.

Maybe a call to someone that is hurting would be a way of encouraging them. How about a card with a message of love? We want to always tell others of Christ’s love and encourage them in whatever manner is possible.

Let’s make encouraging others our daily goal, asking our gracious and loving Lord to direct our paths and our actions.
