Prayer is such an important part of our relationship with God and with our Savior...we can never pray too much or be too humbled in our prayers.
Today, I would like to quote a prayer that was given to me by a dear friend; I know that each of you will be extremely blest by this prayer.
Good Morning Lord, thank you for always being here for us and for loving us the way You do.
We pray for a contrite heart, to remind us where we’ve failed You.
We pray for a receiving heart to be able to accept Your forgiveness and grace, and Lord, give us a thankful heart for all that Your love and grace means to us.
Draw us near to You Lord, and help us to forgive and be at peace with ourselves and those around us and to know the peace that is in You.
Help us to care about one another. Not just the lovable, but also the not so lovable. Help us to be willing to take risk in relationships, to give of ourselves without fear or rejection or disappointment.
And may we do all this for Your glory and praise and not our own.
Now Lord, help us to take this day You’ve given us and live it to the fullest for the coming of Your kingdom in our time. Help us to be sensitive to all those we encounter, to have eyes and ears to see and hear the needs, the sorrows, the hurting, the joys, and to respond to them in a loving, caring, and unselfish way.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who taught us of Your true love. Amen.
This beautiful prayer was written by Dale Vickers. What a blessing to read these words and to pray with Dale.
What a pleasure we have in this country to be able to gather together to pray, to study the word of God, and to sing praises to our Lord and Savior. You are invited to La Vernia United Methodist Church to participate in the worship of our God, taking our needs to our Father, and praising Him for all His glorious touches in our lives.
There is a traditional service each Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m.; between the services there is a Sunday School class just for you. See you there!
