Let’s look to the Word of God today for promises from our Heavenly Father and His vast love for us and in Romans 5:8, we read the following: “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He didn’t just love us; He demonstrated His love. What a beautiful promise.
We are undeserving of His love but while we were yet sinners, He gave His Son on the Cross for us. What a beautiful example of love! If we had to work to be deserving, we would never make it! But, because of this love, Jesus came and died for us! Praise the Name of the Lord.
Let’s look to other scriptures and just dwell on His love today.
In Deut. 7:8, we have a promise to God’s people and we can claim this promise today, “But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the other He swore to your forefathers that He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh, King of Egypt.” God, because of His vast love, rescued the people from the power of the King of Egypt and He still delivers us from the power of the devil. We can rejoice in that vast love!
We can claim the promise in Jeremiah 31:3, when we read, “The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying, ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with loving-kindness.’” We can claim His everlasting love and loving-kindness today and always because our Heavenly Father never changes!
We can also claim the following scripture, “made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions -- it is by grace you have been saved” (Eph. 2:5). What love, this tells us that He came for us even when we were dead in transgressions and sent His loving grace and because of this vast love, we are saved.” Let’s always claim this promise and thank Him always.
In 1 John 3:1, we have a beautiful promise of love and let’s always rejoice in this, “How great in the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are. The reason that the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.” Let’s just dwell on that vast love that our Heavenly Father has lavished on us; because of that love, we are called the children of God.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” (Deut. 6:5). He loves us beyond measure and we need to always love Him in return, seeking His will in our lives and showing that love to others.
“May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance” (2 Thes. 3:5), and in Jude 1:21 we have the following: “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring us to eternal life.”
Let’s dwell on God’s love and thank Him always for His vast love and let’s share that love with others, always seeking His will and direction in every area of our lives.
You are invited to share in God’s love by worshiping at La Vernia United Methodist Church as we seek to thank Him for His Love and to spread the love to all.
