Trusting in God’s Word

“Fear not; stand still (Firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today” (Exodus 14:13). For many people, the word “trust” is a very big word that few people can handle. But if we would just realize that everything that God says in His Word is an absolute truth and that He is not going to change His mind, we would be set free from many situations.

Even though we have to rely on the unseen, we can trust that the answer is on its way and we can stand firm knowing that God will come through for us. God tells us to stand firm and not to fear. It is hard to stand firm and not be fearful but when we know that we are standing on God’s solid word we are able to rest in the Lord.

God’s solid Word is the Bible and it is full of truth. All we have to do is open it, read it, and believe it. It is full of God’s promises for us, but many have not tapped into it; instead we wonder, worry, and lose sleep over situations. We say we trust God, but it is hard to stand on God’s word when we don’t know what God says in His word.

Proverbs 3:5 also tells us “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Psalms 37:5 tells us to “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” The Bible is full of promises for us if we would only read it.
