God offers healing for body, soul

When God created Adam, there was no sin. Therefore, there was no sickness. Sickness came in when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Genesis 2:17 says, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die.” God gave them the world and everything in it. Man did not have to work or worry about a thing. There was no sin and no sickness. They were to enjoy everything except eating the fruit of one tree. Simple, we may say but we all know that when we are given a rule to follow it becomes the attraction. The devil knew that this tree was forbidden and he knew that this was their weak point so he proceeded to entice Eve and we all know the story. Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit.

What had God said? God had told them that they would surely die if they ate of that tree!

What does that mean? They didn’t just keel over and die. Sin ruined the soul and body of man. Death is both physical and spiritual. Physical death comes through sickness and spiritual death comes when we don’t have Jesus in our heart. The only way to restore man’s relationship with God was through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He took our sickness and our sin upon Himself to give us a second chance. Isaiah 53:4-5 says, “Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; é But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”

We will all die someday because of man’s disobedience but if we are in Christ, we will have eternal life. We can enjoy a happy and healthy life because Jesus took every disease and sickness upon himself so that we would be healthy. If you are a child of God and sick in body, it is time to realize that Jesus paid the price so that you would be healed. All you have to do is believe and accept your healing. James 5:14 asks, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over himé” Verse 15 says, “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Jesus is our Savior and our Healer and healing is for you today.
