Fifth Annual Jammin’ Jams Fruit and Nut Tree Adoption Pearl Brewery Farmers Market, 200 E. Grayson You're invited to join us for a morning all about fruit and nut trees and the foods they provide. Approximately 750 fruit and nut trees will be adopted out to residents courtesy of the Parks and Recreation Department. Varieties of trees available include apple, apricot, fig, peach, pear, plum, pomegranate, Fuyu persimmon, and several citrus varieties including Improved Meyer-lemon, orange, and tangerine. There will also be pecan trees available at this year’s event. A fruit tree planting class and a canning demonstration by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension service will be held on site. Other demonstrations will include fresh food preparation and jam making. The Pearl Brewery Farmers Market is offered every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain or shine). A variety of vendors sell vegetables, meats, baked goods and other products including flowers, honey, fresh goat cheese, free range eggs, gourmet nuts, seasoned pecans, jams, all natural and gluten free mixes, salsa, seasoning spices, coffee and tea.
