Firefighters recover body from house fire near Wilson County line



A La Vernia-area family is in mourning, following a Jan. 21 house fire near the Guadalupe/Wilson county line. Burn ban now in effect



A burn ban has been reinstated for Wilson County. Wilson County commissioners took action on the ban at their Jan. 24 meeting. County Fire Marshal Edwin Baker recommended the ban Monday morning, citing the number of recent roadside grass fires and “controlled” burns that got out of control.
