Susanna Dickinson Chapter members honor deceased veterans with flags

In a longstanding Memorial Day tradition, Jane Hibdon (from left), Gayle Palmer, Nancey Boseman, Ann Goode, and Ginger Cook with La Vernia-based Susanna Dickinson Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, place flags on veterans’ graves May 17 in the Salem-Sayers and Mount Olive cemeteries. Also participating were Ann Mary Allen and Linda Saidler. Chapter members have placed flags annually in honor of Memorial Day since the Chapter was organized in 1990. This activity is part of the mission of DAR, including promoting patriotic citizenship. Any woman who wants to support the memory of our Revolutionary ancestors is invited to join.
